Alexa’s mom, Jerilyn, shares with us some details from the family’s planning and from Alexa’s bat mitzvah celebration. She says the Westminster Hotel’s big ballroom and the fact that they had many guests from out-of-town factored into the family’s decision to hold Alexa’s bat mitzvah party with us.
The theme of the bat mitzvah celebration was “London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles,’ says Jerilyn. “We like to travel, and these are Alexa’s four favorite cities.”
As for Alexa’s wishlist, “She wanted guests to be “WOWed” when they walked into the ballroom She wanted her entrance to be very special and unique.”
A standout detail in the décor: “Six photos around the room with Alexa and each city in the background.” Also, light-up towers by the lounge furniture, featuring pictures of Alexa, and a huge bar decorated with the theme.”
One of the menu items that Jerilyn says stood out to their 260 guests: a sushi boat during the cocktail hour, and passed food inspired by the cuisine of the different theme cities.
A standout entertainment feature was an entrance montage created by Andy Foster Photo.
Alexa was joined by her parents, Jerilyn and Ron, and her sisters Haley and Jessica for the celebration. Jerilyn says the received excellent feedback from their guests: “They loved the decor, the deejay played great dance music, and the Westminster Hotel provided great service, with delicious food. Jen Cooper from the Westminster was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning of Alexa’s bat mitzvah.”
